Secondary Sportshall Athletics Event
There was a fantastic turnout for the East Riding SSP (West) Secondary Sportshall Athletics Competition held at Cottingham High School earlier this week. Schools brought their top athletes to compete in a range of indoor track and field events. With over 20 teams of boys and girls from across Year 7 & 8 it really was a sight to behold seeing everyone participating with some superb individual performances throughout the event.
A huge thank you to Cottingham High who not only provided the facilities and equipment but also drafted in a team of Young Leaders who collected all the results for each event - without them the competition could not have taken place.
The event came to a close with some dynamic relay races and then it was time for the results to be collated. They are as follows:-
Yr 7 Girls
1st South Hunsley School - 148
2nd Cottingham High School – 122

As you can see there were only a few points between some positiions so it really shows how closely fought the competition was. Huge congratulations to everyone on their performance and in particular the winning teams who will now go on and represent the partnership in the area final on Wednesday 22nd March in Scunthorpe - Good luck to everyone!
