On Tuesday 10th July, East Riding SSP (West) held their Annual Awards Evening at Cottingham High School celebrating the amazing success and achievements of pupils from Primary, Secondary and Special Schools from across our partnership. Many thanks to everyone that attended, it was our largest yet and what a proud night it was for staff, parents and pupils alike. Thanks also goes to Cottingham High for hosting and facilitating the event and for Acting Head Kate Jordan for welcoming everyone at the start of the evening.

Our Key speaker Rachael Mackenzie, was an inspiration with her heartfelt stories of her amazing path to not only becoming a World Champion Thai Boxer but overcoming adversity to go on and become a British Champion in Boxing in her very first season. 

We got to hear some of the outstanding nominations sent in from our schools outlining the many ways our pupils have either performed beyond all expectation or where they may have gone that extra mile either within their school or achieving sporting success in a sporting environment away from school. From what we saw there is a not only a wealth of talent in our schools but a vast number of pupils happy to devote much or in some cases all of their spare time to sport, be it through direct participation or in faciliting others through volunteering.

We have high hopes for all of our nominees and are confident we will be hearing more from you all as you continue in your school sport journeys and beyond....we can't wait!!!
